What is Biorhythm?

A biorhythm (from Greek βιορυθμός - biorhuthmos) is a hypothetical cycle in physiological, emotional, or intellectual well-being or prowess. "Bio" pertains to life and "rhythm" pertains to the flow with regular movement. Biorhythms theory has no more predictive power than chance, and has been labeled a pseudoscience by skeptics.

Biorhythm History

Biorhythms were discovered around the turn of the twentieth century. Dr. Wilhelm Fliess, an ear and throat specialist at the University of Berlin, was one of the early pioneers of the concept. He noticed patterns in his patient' symptoms and had a mathematician take a look at them. They found that the sickness cycle was different for men and women.

Another early biorhythms researcher was Dr. Hermanna Swoboda, a psychology professor at the University of Vienna. He found patterns in pain, swelling, fevers and heart attacks that were identical to those proposed by Fliess. He also found that the male cycle was related to certain traits associated with males, while the female cycle was related to certain traits associated with females

Although the traits associated with these two cycles were considered male and female, the researchers believed that both rhythms pertained to both sexes.

Dr. Friedrich Teltscher of the University of Innsbruck also studied biorhythms through experiments on 5,000 students. This led to the discovery of a new biorhythm: The intellectual cycle.

Dr. Hans Swing at the Swiss National Institute of Technology did a study of 700 accidents and 300 deaths in 1939 He determined that 401 of accidents and 197 of the deaths were related to unfavorable biorhythms.

Other studies include one involving the sanitation department of the city of Hanover. It was determined that 83% o the garbage and watering truck accidents in the city occurred on caution days. Yet another study, performed by Dr. Reinhold Bochow in Berlin, involved 499 agricultural accidents. He found that 62% of the accidents studied were related to biorhythms.

In addition to the physical, emotional, an intellectual cycles, several other biorhythm cycles have been proposed and even charted. But these original three are the only ones that have been subjected to intense scientific study, and therefore the only ones that have been proven valid.

There has been much debate over the years about the validity of biorhythms as a whole. While most scientist and medical professionals agree that man's physical and emotional states are always fluctuating, not all agree that they fluctuate in accordance with regular cycles that begin at birth.

For almost 3 years, I always to tried to dressed like one of my idol. All of his styles I always try to follow it. I followed his style with some hopes that I can be like him. But then, my best friend come to me.

"Riddicolous. It's so riddiciolous. It's impossible to you become himself. The one who can be him is just himself," he said to me. I was so angry when I heard that.

"What do you said?" I aked to him

"You can't become a person like him!"

"I really hate you. I want to be like him and that's my decision!"

"Listen to me! You just can become yourself. Not him, me, or the others. Be the best person in the world that can't be copied by others." I looked at his eyes for aminute and then he said, "That's all!" Then he leaved me.

And in the next day, he was surprised when I changed my style. "What the hell you doing?" as he said.

"I just become myself!" I saw that he smiled at me. I think I've found my new myself that more fun than the past.

Keep the Balance of Emotion

Thank for the gift that has been granted to you. Whatever we get, we must thank to God for it. Use what we got wisely and don't forget to say thanks for Him and evryone who has given their kindness for us.
Enjoy the art. With art, life become more beautiful. Without art, life become so bored. Then, enjoy art whatever you like. Maybe, music, painting, carving, dancing, etc.
Give reward to ourself. When we're success, we are deserve for a reward. It mustn't expensive because the important thing is it can show there's a reward for ourself.
Do autosuggestion. None can hurt and make us happy except ourself. Then, do positive autosuggestion to motivate us. For example, "I can be better than somebody else."

I hope after you do that, you can see everyday is beautiful.

One day, I and my friend, Asahi, went together by bus. When the bus stopped, there was a newspaper boy sold the newspaper that he brought by yelled the headline of the newspaper. The short impression that I caught about the news, were interesting. Then I bought it for Rp2.000,00

During the journey, I read it news by news, while my friend was looking at me but I didn't care about it. But slowly he was curious. Though one time I was angry while I was reading the newspaper, he didn't care. Why he didn't have any interest with a lot of annoyed, weird, and controversial news in the newspaper?

"Do you want to read this?" I asked to him.

"No, I don't want." He answered.

"You know, the news are interesting. Moreover, we must follow the development in our country."

"The news in the newspaper aren't enough. The newspaper is bad."

"What is your reason to say that?"

"You can see that, it just show the dishonest and the sly of the officials. It just show that the officials are greedy and sly people consciously."

"Then?"

"Actually, it must show the analysis, the solutions, and the positive attitudes so the readers aren't angry. The readers may disappoint with the facts but they must be given constructive attitudes. If just anger come out from the newspaper, it means that they sell anger and you have bought it for Rp2.000,00."

"I was silent to learned what he told for minutes. Then someone in the back seat said, "Damn, once again a government prisoner has escaped. He should be shot by polices." I saw that he read same newspaper too and my friend just smiled.

Conserve Wild Animal Mustn't Go to the Forest

Our world has thousand of wild animals that live freely in their habitat. Some of them are endemic animals that only live in the certain area. For example, Panda in China, Komodo in Indonesia, Dodo bird in Madagascar, etc. So, if they are gone from that area, it means that they have extincted.

There's a lot of factors that cause wild animal extinction, which has the most influence is human act. It only can be avoided by human will and role in it. There are a lot of work that have been done by somebody to anticipate the high extinction increasing.

Unfortunately, those works haven't showed the optimize result yet because there are a few of human community that care and take part in the conservation. While, this work nly can be success if all of us are take a part in it.

How we can take a part in conservation while we don't work in conservation subject and live in a far distance from wild animals habitat?

Actually, whatever our job and wherever we live, we can take a part in the conservation too.

Here are some advices which can be done to save wild animals:

Don't consume wild animal meat. There are so many wild animal hunt because of high market demand for wild animal meat. If we don't consume wild animal meat, we have taken a part in decrease market demand and finally decrease wild animal hunt. Their place are in nature, not on our plate.
Don't buy exotic animal. Animal seller usually sells unique animal that are caught from the forest. If there's none that buy their goods, this activity will be left and they will search new work. It isn't wise if we want to live freely in Earth but we put animas in a cage.
Don't buy forest product.
Donate for the conservation.
Spread the information. Start to spread the information to everyone near us about how important conserve the wild animals is.

If we have done the advices above, we have taken a part in wild animals conservation that it will be a good inheritance for the next generation.

I'm sure that when we was child, we hope that someday when we're adult someday, we want to be a fireman, a business man, a police, or else. Slowly the goal goes near to us but the way that we must through is so hard.

According to my teacher when I had a class of him, he said that when we want to be something and be an expert in that thing, besides we practice a lot we must enjoy everything.

After he said that, I said that was an irrational think and I asked to him how about when we face our hard times.

Then, he answered like this:
"Mmm, about that thing set in your heart that it just a hidden taste to make us more enjoy our life. Facing day after day is the most beautiful thing.

Give a compliment to ourself for our work. Enjoy everything that has given by the world about what we see, what we hear, and what we touch. If you can do it, become an expert in one thing isn't a dream.

It is an easy thing, but almost forgotten by everyone."

After the class, I think that he is the best teacher that I ever had.
